Much like the recent storm swept through the north-west the prior day, Manchester City overwhelmed United aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a statement three-nil victory for their manager's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that clearly signaled their title credentials as they strengthened their position at the WSL pinnacle.
